What does a world-renowned hip-hop artist, a professional football player, a rapper, and a popular online gamer have in common?
Well likely not a lot, but all four forces plus more have come together to play an ever increasing popular online game named Fortnite by gaming company Epic Games. The biggest names of this combination are none other than Drake, Ninja, JuJu, and Travis Scott. This is all being captured and recorded by the widely known online game streaming service website, Twitch. This turn of events has exploded all over the online gaming community such as Reddit and Twitter.
Twitch has been used for over seven years now to publicly and live broadcast online gamers for viewers for entertainment. Generally online live broadcasting gamers (also known as "streamers") make revenue by entertaining viewers, and viewers can either donate money or subscribe to the channel for a fee. Twitch is essentially "Live Television for gamers."
Ninja was followed by Drake on Instagram due to his massive popularity. This past night they decided to create a party to play together on none other than the game Fortnite. Ninja played on the PC platform while Drake played on the PS4 platform.
At first viewers were doubtful and suspicious if the so called "Drake" was really playing. Drake confirmed this after he posted on his Twitter account that he is indeed playing Fortnite.
After being asked, Drake admitted to only playing the game for about two months. He also admitted that because he would spend almost 20 hours at a time in a studio, he would have lots of downtime to play games such as Fortnite.

The viewer count of this particular stream broke a Twitch's record for viewers for a single channel at a time at over 610,000 viewers! The previous record was 388,000.
Can you honestly imagine over 600k people watching four guys playing a video game live?
I couldn't, but I guess I can now.

Fortnite previously was already a booming online game with a tremendously large community, with Twitch streamers making it big by playing said game. With more players on Fortnite, came more Twitch streamers. With more Twitch streamers, came more players on Fortnite. This continue cycle is showcasing itself by cause Twitch to have a user base of both viewers and streamers at an all time high.
And with "news breaking" incidents like this, what can stop this flourishing trend?
